10 Days in Greece: Athens, Naxos, and Paros

Day 1-2: Athens

Arrive in Athens and spend the first day exploring the ancient wonders of the city, including the Acropolis, Parthenon, and the Acropolis Museum. On the second day, delve deeper into Athens’ history with visits to the Ancient Agora, Temple of Olympian Zeus, and the vibrant Plaka neighborhood. Indulge in traditional Greek cuisine at local tavernas.

Day 3-5: Naxos

Take a ferry to the island of Naxos, known for its stunning beaches and charming villages. Explore the narrow streets of Naxos Town (Chora) and visit the Portara, a marble doorway that overlooks the Aegean Sea. Spend a day discovering the island’s rich history at the Temple of Demeter and the ancient ruins of Naxos. Relax on the beautiful beaches, such as Agios Prokopios and Plaka. Experience authentic Greek island life with a cooking class, where you’ll learn to prepare traditional dishes like moussaka and tzatziki. Enjoy a sunset dinner at a seaside taverna.

Day 6-8: Paros

Take a short ferry ride to the picturesque island of Paros. Explore the charming capital, Parikia, with its narrow alleys, white-washed houses, and the historic Panagia Ekatontapiliani church. Discover the quaint fishing village of Naoussa, famous for its beautiful harbor, vibrant nightlife, and delicious seafood restaurants. Spend a day relaxing on the golden beaches of Kolymbithres and Santa Maria. Engage in water sports or take a boat tour to explore the hidden coves and crystal-clear waters around the island.

Day 9-10: Athens

Return to Athens for the final leg of your journey. Visit the National Archaeological Museum, housing an impressive collection of ancient artifacts. Explore the vibrant neighborhoods of Monastiraki and Psirri, known for their lively atmosphere, street art, and eclectic shops. Indulge in a food tour, sampling local delicacies such as souvlaki, feta cheese, and loukoumades (Greek donuts). Conclude your trip with a visit to the bustling Athens Central Market to experience the vibrant atmosphere and pick up some souvenirs.
